SimpsInns, one of Ayrshire’s best-known hospitality groups, has recently completed a full upgrade of their EPOS systems across multiple venues with ACR Epos Systems. With a focus on faster service, mobile ordering, and customer loyalty, the project has transformed the group’s operations from the ground up.

A Project That Started with Si!

Back in Spring 2023, SimpsInns first approached ACR to discuss a new EPOS setup for Si! in Irvine, where The Potting Shed and The Terrace were undergoing major refurbishments. They needed a modern EPOS solution with handheld ordering tablets to improve service flow and customer experience.

ACR installed a full EPOS system, kitchen printers, and SPOS Remote handheld tablets, all managed through the SPOS Back-Office Suite, giving Si! greater control and visibility over operations.

Waterside

Expanding the Rollout: The Waterside Hotel

In Spring 2024, SimpsInns extended the project to The Waterside Hotel in West Kilbride, a flagship wedding and events venue. With an outdated EPOS system in place, the goal was to modernise service and enhance guest experiences, particularly across their large outdoor areas.

ACR supplied new EPOS terminals, kitchen printers, and SPOS Remote handheld tablets. Staff were also equipped with payment-enabled handheld devices, allowing them to take orders and process payments outdoors without returning to fixed till points — a major boost in service speed and efficiency.

Gailes Golf

GG’s Golf, Spa & Leisure

Next up was GG’s — a unique site combining a restaurant, spa, and golf driving range. Again, ACR delivered a full EPOS upgrade, including handheld tablets and mobile payment devices to support table service and upselling opportunities on the range.

Importantly, ACR also integrated the EPOS system with GG’s EGM Golf Ball Dispensing Machines. Customers can now purchase a ball credit at the till, receive a barcode, and scan it at the dispenser — a seamless and modernised experience.

Gailes

The Gailes Hotel & The Loans Inn

Following the successful installations at The Waterside and GG’s, ACR rolled out the same modern EPOS solutions at both The Gailes Hotel and The Loans Inn, maintaining consistency across the SimpsInns brand.

Guestline

Guestline PMS Integration

Earlier this year, SimpsInns adopted the Guestline PMS (Property Management System) across several of their sites — The Waterside, The Gailes Hotel, GG’s, and The Loans Inn. ACR’s EPOS system integrates seamlessly with Guestline, enabling guests to effortlessly charge food, drinks, and spa treatments directly to their hotel account.

SPOS Loyalty & Gift Card Manager

To further enhance customer engagement, SimpsInns also switched to ACR’s SPOS Loyalty & Gift Card Manager. Their previous provider’s system had reached end-of-life, so ACR provided a full migration and upgrade. The new solution rewards loyal customers and allows the group to sell and redeem gift cards across all their sites — strengthening customer retention and driving new revenue.
